Robinhood Seeks SEC Approval for Retail Venture Capital Fund
Robinhood has filed with the SEC to launch Robinhood Ventures Fund I (RVI), a closed-end fund aimed at giving retail investors access to private market opportunities traditionally reserved for venture capitalists and high-net-worth individuals. The fund WOULD list on the NYSE, marking a potential watershed moment for democratizing startup investing.
"This is Robinhood’s latest effort to tear down barriers in private markets globally," the company stated. RVI plans to target innovative private companies with long-term growth potential, including through IPO stages and beyond, while maintaining portfolio diversification.
